A Day of Presentations: From Molecular Structures to Patient Care | Khaled Osama Yaseen

Today was a truly dynamic day in my academic journey at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University. I had the privilege of delivering two distinct presentations that perfectly illustrate the dual nature of our profession: the deep scientific foundation and the critical importance of community service.

Presentation 1: Phytochemistry 2 – The Language of Structures

In our Phytochemistry 2 session, we dove deep into the complex world of natural products and their chemical frameworks.

  • Molecular Analysis: I presented a detailed breakdown of specific chemical structures, highlighting how small changes in their configuration can lead to vastly different medicinal properties.

  • Visualizing Science: Using the lecture hall’s projection system, I was able to walk my colleagues through the synthesis and structural components that make these natural compounds so effective in therapy.

Presentation 2: Community Pharmacy – The Human Element

The second half of the day shifted from the laboratory to the front lines of healthcare in our Community Pharmacy session.

  • Practical Knowledge: While biochemistry and phytochemistry provide the "why," community pharmacy focuses on the "how" of patient care.

  • Vaccination Education: A major focus of my presentation was on the importance of vaccinations, specifically addressing CDC recommendations for annual flu vaccines.

  • Interactive Breakdown: I utilized the whiteboard to map out the differences between various vaccine types and the non-medical interventions students must understand to better serve their future patients.

The Constant Pursuit of Impact

Whether I am analyzing a 7000mAh "battery monster" on my YouTube channel, competing for a top spot in a university chess tournament, or explaining the structural nuances of a plant-derived drug, my goal remains consistent: to share "treasures" of information that leave a lasting memory.

As I’ve reflected before, the best things we leave behind are information and appreciation—memories that live on long after the session ends.
