As I move through my final year at the Faculty of Pharmacy, my commitment to fostering a strong research culture within our university community has never been stronger. I recently had the privilege of leading an intensive session on scientific research, hosted by the International Veterinary Students' Association (IVSA) Mansoura.
The Roadmap of Discovery: Pre-Clinical to Clinical
The session, which spanned over two hours, was designed to demystify the complex process of bringing a new drug from the lab to the patient.
The Scientific Pipeline: We mapped out the critical stages of pharmaceutical development, starting with Pre-Clinical (Experimental) phases.
Bridging Disciplines: We explored how different departments collaborate during early-stage drug discovery and the vital role of animal studies in ensuring safety before moving to human trials.
Clinical Trials: A major focus of our discussion was the progression through Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3 clinical trials, emphasizing the rigorous standards required to prove efficacy and safety in humans.
A Year of Scientific Leadership
Leading this session for IVSA Mansoura is a natural extension of a prolific year dedicated to scientific excellence:
Award-Winning Research: This session builds on the technical foundations of my Silver Medal presentation at the 12th Student Scientific Conference, where I presented on microbiota-based interventions.
Practical Foundations: My research insights are deeply informed by practical training, such as the stem cell workshop at MU Pharm-2024 and hands-on oncology preparation.
The Ideal Perspective: Sharing this "treasure" of knowledge with fellow students from across disciplines (including veterinary medicine) is a core reason I was recently honored as the 1st Place Ideal Student for 2024/2025.
Beyond the Classroom
Whether it’s teaching the nuances of clinical phases or calculating a winning move in a chess tournament, my goal is to simplify the complex and inspire others to reach their full potential. Helping students transition from the "high school mindset" to the world of international scientific standards is a legacy I am proud to build.
