As I approach the final months of my journey at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University, I had the pleasure of participating in the Orientation Day for the new incoming class of 2024/2025. This event was organized by the Clinical Students Union (CSU) to welcome the newest members of our academic family.
Bridging the Gap: From High School to University Life
The transition from the rigid structure of high school to the independent world of university can be overwhelming. During my session, I focused on several key areas to help the new students navigate this major life shift:
Academic Adaptation: I explained the internal systems of the faculty, helping them understand how to manage their schedules between theoretical lectures and practical lab sessions.
Navigating the Campus: We discussed the physical layout of the faculty and where to find essential student welfare services.
Finding the "Treasure" in Activities: I shared how student organizations like the CSU and EPSF-Mansoura were vital to my own growth, from organizing the "Step on the Way" conference to winning the [Ph]ocus Project.
A Mindset for Success: I encouraged them to approach pharmacy not just as a degree, but as a path to becoming "career pioneers" through research and clinical excellence.
Full Circle Moments
Standing in front of the whiteboard with "WELCOME" written behind me felt like a full-circle moment. It wasn't long ago that I was in their seats, and now, as a Level 5 Clinical student and a 4-time Faculty Chess Champion, I am able to pass on the lessons I've learned.
My reaction in the photos says it all—a mix of pride and the bittersweet realization that in just a few months, I will be leaving this place that has given me so many memories.
"My reaction... as if I'm saying, finally it's only a few more months and I'll be leaving the place! 😂🤩" — November 1, 2024
