I am excited to share a design that is very close to my heart and my profession—a specialized logo for the pharmaceutical field. This project was an exercise in blending medical symbolism with creative typography to tell a story that especially my fellow medical and pharmacy students will recognize.
The Design Concept: A Vital Connection
For this identity, the challenge was to move beyond the traditional "Bowl of Hygieia" that I used in the Clinical Students Union logo and create something that felt uniquely integrated with the medical experience.
The Typographic Loop: I chose a soft, cursive font for the brand name, but with a strategic twist. The capital letter "R" serves as the anchor of the design.
The Pulse of Science: Extending from the "R," I’ve integrated a life-line (ECG/EKG) waveform. This trace represents the vital signs of life and the ultimate goal of pharmacy: to protect and sustain human health.
Pharmacy Integration: The waveform doesn't just end; it leads directly into the word "Pharmacy," suggesting that the profession is an inseparable part of the patient's recovery and wellbeing.
Color Psychology: I utilized a gradient of coral and soft pink. In branding, these tones suggest warmth, care, and approachability—key traits for a healthcare professional.
Modern Presentation: The logo is placed within a sleek circular frame on a professional office background, giving it a high-end, clinical feel.
The Medical Insight
I wanted to see who among our community would catch the specific medical nuance in this design. As pharmacy students, we understand that every pulse on that screen represents a complex chemical and physiological interaction that we work to master every day.
